September is here, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Don’t get me wrong, I love me some summer, but the fall is amazing for so many reasons. The temperatures begin to drop (in Vegas that means from triple digits back to double digits), and fall and holiday decor make their appearances. We are finally in a home I am looking forward to decorating and this fall I plan to do just that. There are so many fun ways to spice up your home. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve found on Pinterest and will be using as inspiration in my home!
I love this look for the fireplace mantel, it is so versatile. This is a look that can be carried from now until after Thanksgiving and then modified for the Christmas holiday decor. Once the fall season is over, replace the pumpkins with something more suitable, like painted pinecones, fake snow, or holiday figurines.
These pumpkins were originally found on Horchow.com but aren’t available anymore. Don’t be sad! They are soooooo easy to replicate. These are wood however, you can DIY the hell out of this. There are a couple options. The first option is to head to your nearest craft store, pick up some plastic or foam pumpkins and off white spray paint (or any color for that matter) and a box or 2 of thumb tacks (color is your choice as well though I think gold would look fantastic). Once your pumpkins are painted and dry, decorate them with the thumb tacks in any pattern that suits you. Voila! Pretty decor to be admired year after year.
I am in love with this Halloween decor. Obviously, this is pretty hardcore Halloween, and wouldn’t be able to be up for Thanksgiving, but LOVE! And when you pick apart the pieces, fairly easy and cheap to accomplish. DIY the raven silhouette, check out your local second hand store for frames. Ignore the art inside the frame, look for a nice big chunky old looking one. Also, pick up some candle sticks if you run across them! Hit the dollar store for bottles to make into the apothecary bottles. Homegoods, Marshalls, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Ross and the like are always good places to go for the faux black birds during this time of year. The cheesecloth can be bought on Amazon for super cheap! Branches are easy to come by, spray paint it black and you’ve got yourself an amazing looking mantel for Halloween.
